Impeccable Kitchen Picks: New Finex Cast Iron
Posted on 09 December 2015
FINEX Cast Iron holds a special place in the kitchen and in our hearts. What began as a wingnutty labor of design love has burgeoned into a line of cool, practical and seriously well-made modern cookware. As regular readers might remember, FINEX started as a passion project undertaken by Mike Whitehead, a lover of vintage cast iron cookware who lamented the low quality of contemporary cast iron options. After a lot of dedicated designing, an 844% funded Kickstarter campaign, and a couple years in production, the FINEX line is bigger (and smaller) than ever.
Keeping the unusual/useful octagonal shape and Draplin-done graphic design, they've added two smaller versions of the original 12" pan, new lids, and introduced the striking grill skillet (a Grillet, if you will). Everything is still made to meet Mike's intense standards, and produced entirely in the Pacific Northwest. You can check out the whole FINEX collection in-store and online at Hand-Eye Supply.
To show off what high quality cast iron can do in action (and show off the passion behind these pretty pans), Curiosity Club will be hosting a cooking and cast iron demo with Mike himself! Come by the Hand-Eye Supply shop from 1pm-4pm on Dec. 19th to meet the FINEX founder and get some great cooking tips for the holiday season and beyond.
